Gov. Walker to release book later this year

MADISON (WKOW) -- Governor Scott Walker is apparently ready to tell all about his political life in a new book, to be called "Unintimidated: A Governor's Story and a Nation's Challenge."

On Tuesday, the Sentinel imprint of Penguin Group said the book is tentatively scheduled for release late this year. The publishing group also announced Walker is teaming up with Marc Thiessen, former chief speech writer for President George W. Bush.

Walker rose to national fame after surviving a recall election last year following his decision to curb collective bargaining rights for public employees. The move sparked historic protests at our state Capitol.

The publishing company says Walker will detail the reforms he enacted in Wisconsin; sharing the inside story of how the battle for Wisconsin was won.

"This book tells the dramatic story of how one brave leader drove real change in his state, and what the rest of the country can learn from him," said Mr. Zackheim. "It's not just a memoir, it's a call to action."

Walker is considered a potential 2016 contender for the Republican presidential nomination, a prospect Walker has said is "an option."
