Tavern owner charged with hiring worker to start bar on fire

Black River Falls (WQOW) - The owner of a failed Black River Falls area tavern was charged Tuesday with having it set on fire.

Brian Adkins owned the Rustic Mill Tavern.  It burned down in July of 2011.  Adkins was charged Tuesday with hiring one of his part-time employees to set the fire. That worker, Kyle Rott, was charged earlier with arson. Investigators say he told them that Adkins and his son, Tyler Keck, approached him to burn down the bar for $10,000. Keck has also been charged.

Adkins was also charged Tuesday with failing to turn over to the state more than $30,000 in sales tax and employee withholdings.
