UPDATE: Police locate body of missing Amery man


Polk County - UPDATE: The Burnett County Sheriff's Office says the body of David H. Melby, 53, of Amery was found in a burned out vehicle in Burnett County.

An autopsy was conducted Friday. Foul play is not suspected but officials say Melby was despondent when he went missing on Wednesday. The vehicle was found northeast of Webster.


Polk County (Press Release) - The Polk County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's help in locating a missing rural Amery man.

On Wednesday, March 27, David H. Melby, 53, was reported missing from his rural Amery residence. Melby last contacted a family member by cell phone on Tuesday, March 26 at approximately 3:30 p.m. The last known location of that cell phone was believed to have originated in the Danbury area.

Melby is driving a 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 pick-up, green in color with Wisconsin license plates GR4639.
