Two people arrested in Pierce County deer killings

ELLSWORTH - DNR wardens say they've cracked what they call a "deer killing spree" in Pierce County.

At least a dozen deer were killed and butchered, and more were wounded but never found.

That's according to charges just filed this week against two Ellsworth teenagers. Isaac Benck and Patrick Freund are charged with shining and shooting the deer last October and November.

Wardens say Benck was also found to be in the possession of four dead badgers, which are protected in Wisconsin. Both men will be in court next month.
