Attorney wants out of Chritton child abuse case

MADISON (WKOW) -- The attorney for Chad Chritton wants to leave the case.

Online court records show William Hayes filed a motion to withdraw as counsel.

Court officials say judge Julie Genovese has not approved the motion.

Earlier this month, Chritton was found guilty on one count of felony child neglect, not guilty on misdemeanor child neglect, and jurors deadlocked on four other counts.

Dane County District Attorney Ismael Ozanne has said he'll wait until after the trials of Melinda Drabek-Chritton and Joshua Drabek before deciding whether to re-try Chad Chritton.
