Bloomer (WQOW) - A second person has now been arrested in connection with the beating of a well-known Bloomer businessman.

The Bloomer police chief says Nicolas Blisard was arrested Friday, and Andre Demers was picked up Saturday. They're both facing charges of second degree reckless endangerment.

The two are accused of attacking Donnie Stoik, owner of the Main Street Cafe in Bloomer, Thursday night in his driveway. Police say he had just arrived home from church shortly before 10 p.m. when the two came out of the dark and rushed him.

Stoik was beaten with a board. He needed stitches to repair a three-inch gash in his head, and suffered chest and leg injuries.

Stoik says Blisard used to work at the Main Street Cafe as a dishwasher. He says he fired Blisard last December. Blisard had worked there for a few months. Stoik says he didn't know Demers. Stoik says he believes the two attacked him for money, but got scared off when he started yelling. He says the two lived just a few houses down from him on opposite sides.
