UPDATE: AWOL sex offender arrested in Canada

SUN PRAIRIE (WKOW) -- Sun Prairie Police say Britton Mckenzie was arrested Thursday in Sudbury, Ontario and is currently jailed.

The Sun Prairie Police Department does not have any charges on Mckenzie at this time.

Members of the Sudbury Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment and Highway Safety Division, acting on information that a 65-year-old male from Wisconsin (wanted by the WI Department of Corrections) was arrested without incident during a traffic stop in the Sudbury area. 

Mckenzie is currently being held in the Sudbury District Jail.

SUN PRAIRIE (WKOW) -- Police in Sun Prairie are looking for a sex offender they say cut off his GPS monitoring bracelet.

Officers say the whereabouts of 66-year-old Britton Mckenzie are unknown. He's described as 5'10'', 165 lbs., with gray hair and blue eyes. Police say Mckenzie may be driving a red 2005 Jeep Liberty Sport with Wisconsin disabled plates of 32537D.

The police department says Mckenzie has been known to frequent coffee shops and libraries and has a history of exposing himself to young adult females.

Anyone who knows where Mckenzie is should call the Sun Prairie Police Department at 608-837-7336.
