Turkey hunting begins in area state parks

Eau Claire (WQOW) - If you spend time at area state parks, starting next week you may spot hunters.

A new state law allows hunting at Lake Wissota and Brunet Island state parks, along with all other state parks. The DNR is sending out a reminder that the spring turkey hunting season starts April 10th.

Even though hikers and bird watchers also use the parks this time of year, the DNR does not expect any problems because the few hunters expected to use the parks usually start very early in the morning and quit by mid-day. The parks will be open for spring hunting until the end of the month.
