Wisconsin traffic deaths up slightly in March

MADISON (WKOW) – Wisconsin transportation officials say traffic deaths rose slightly in March.

Thirty-three people died during the month, two more than March one year ago and five more than the five-year average.

This year, the death toll through the end of March is 103, which is down from last year.

Officials say the numbers are preliminary, but they urge drivers to refrain from using cell phones to avoid distractions.
