Wake Up anchor Dani Maxwell gets cozy with Max the rat

MADISON (WKOW) -- The Dane County Humane Society is now collecting items for its annual garage sale.

You can drop off your donations at the main shelter during normal business hours from Friday, April 5 to Saturday, April 20.

The sale will run from April 26 through the 28 at the new Westside location, and the money earned will benefit the Wildlife Rehab Program.

Gayle Viney, from the Dane County Humane Society, stopped by the set of Wake Up Wisconsin Friday morning to remind the crew of the sale, and show off her furry friend Maximus the rat.

Gayle wanted to remind people that rats can be pets too. Domesticated rats are similar to hamsters and gerbils and can live up to 3 years. Wake Up Wisconsin anchor Dani Maxwell got kisses from Max the rat Friday morning!
