Woman sentenced for leaving daughter home alone

Eau Claire (WQOW) - A woman is sentenced Friday for leaving her young daughter home alone during which time a fire broke out.

Firefighters were called to a home on Talmadge Street in Eau Claire early one morning last October. An 11-year-old girl told them she woke up to hear the smoke detector sounding. She said she screamed for her mother, then grabbed her dogs and fled.

Investigators say the mother, Krissy Angus, did not show up until 12 hours after the fire.

She plead guilty to child neglect and possessing meth. Angus was ordered to do a week of community service and was placed on probation.
