O'Dell takes plea in murder case

MADISON (WKOW) -- A Madison man pleaded guilty to second degree homicide Friday in exchange for not having to spend the rest of his life in prison.

26-year old Matthew O'Dell stabbed and killed Craig O'Donnell last June 30 at a mobile home park on the north side.

O'Donnell was the boyfriend of O'Dell's ex-girlfriend.

The plea deal from first to second degree intentional homicide means the most O'Dell can get is 60 years of combined prison and extended supervision.
