UW's White impressive in spring practice

Madison (WQOW) -- It's been an offseason of change for the Wisconsin football team. But besides a new coaching staff and playbook, the Badgers also have the task of replacing one of the best running backs in program history.

As Montee Ball prepares for the NFL Draft, James White is working to close out his Badgers career with a stellar senior season. White enters the season as the top returning rusher in college football, with more than 2,500 yards to his name. Head coach Gary Andersen says White will be quite the weapon for Wisconsin.

"James comes to work again every day," says Andersen. "He's excited about being here. He ran with a little more aggression today in a couple of those short yardage situations. His reps are going to be limited but he's not counting his reps. He's making his reps count, which he did today, which was impressive to see."

Wisconsin will hold its spring game on April 20th.
