2 teens in custody after attempted robbery

FITCHBURG (WKOW) -- Two teenagers were taken into custody after an attempted robbery in Fitchburg.

Fitchburg police say around 8:30 p.m. Sunday, a man flagged down an officer saying he had been approached by four young men who demanded money. The victim said he refused and tried to leave in his vehicle. The victim says one of the juveniles used a rock to smash the victim's window.

The victim was able to give police a detailed description of the suspects. An officer found two of them a few blocks away. One ran away and the other was apprehended. Police say the 16-year-old who ran away is being held on a charge of Attempted Robbery and Obstructing an Officer. The second 16-year-old is being held on a charge of Party to the Crime of Attempted Robbery.

Police say those two suspects are being held at the Juvenile Receiving Center. All four suspects have been identified.
