GREEN BAY (WKOW) -- Governor Scott Walker's school voucher expansion plan was again a hot topic at the second public hearing on his biennial budget.
Hundreds of people lined up for the hearing at Lambeau Field Monday.
Educators on both sides of the issue voiced their concerns.
Ed Dorff, the principal at Green Bay East H.S. says, "Let's call the proposal to expand school vouchers what it truly is - an attack on free public education thinly disguised as a matter of choice in school reform."
Jeremy Bock is the principal at St. Mark Lutheran School.
He says, "The expansion of the voucher program gives us the opportunity to reach out and give people an opportunity to have an education to a school they feel best fits their child."
Lawmakers also heard pleas for increased funding from a number of public schools superintendents.
The next hearing is Wednesday, April 10 at the Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells.
It runs from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
