Snow Ends Today, Lingering Flurries Into Weekend

Posted:

Eau Claire (WQOW) - The final round of precipitation with the strong winter storm will gradually wind down today.  An additional half inch of accumulation is possible, then lingering flurries into tonight.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the entire WQOW News 18 viewing area until noon today.  The Winter Storm Warning is no longer in effect.

Recent rainfall and snowmelt have led to rising rivers across much of western Wisconsin.  Additional rain or snow, along with melting will likely lead to some flooding of local rivers and waterways.  A Flood Warning remains in effect through late Friday night for the Eau Claire River near Fall Creek and Chippewa River at Durand.  If you have interests in low-lying areas, especially near streams and rivers, please take note of the flooding potential.

Please stay tuned to WQOW News 18 for the latest weather information and updates.  Radar, current conditions, and the forecast are all available on the WQOW.com weather page and through the *free* WQOW weather app.
