Paws for Piper to raise money for diabetic 6-year-old girl

MADISON (WKOW) -- A 6-year-old girl, who has endured finger pokes and injections five or more times per day since being diagnosed with type-1 diabetes, needs your help to get a diabetic alert dog.

An event called "Paws for Piper" will be on Sunday, April 16. The Cut-A-Thon event will be from noon until 6:00 p.m. at 5910 Monona Drive. They're taking appointments right now for haircuts, manicures and other appointments.

Piper has used an insulin pump since last June, but still suffers from dangerous highs and lows.
