2 Madison golf courses open Sunday

MADISON (WKOW) -- After waiting longer than usual, two of Madison's golf course opened Sunday.

Despite the cold weather, some golfers hit the greens. Odana Hills and Monona golf courses offered an opening day special; paying just $1 per hole.

"I think they're just excited to play. You know, people love golf, they love the game, whether they're walking or riding in a golf cart, and just to be outside and enjoy it. We're looking forward to the summer and to the golf season to really get started and its still a little chilly today, but people, they want to play golf so they're out here," Madison's Director of Golf Ian Nicoll says.

Some other local courses, like Glenway and Yahara Hills remain closed.
