WI Dairy News: WI chef makes eating healthy fun for kids

MADISON (WKOW) -- The Fuel Up to Play 60 program has definitely gotten kids to be more active, but to maintain a healthy lifestyle kids need to eat the right foods, too. With the help of an awarding winning chef, Wisconsin students are learning new ways to power up for the school day.

Chef Tory Miller helped students at Columbus Middle School design their own healthy breakfast recipes.  He says when kids create their own meals they're more willing to try new foods, whether they like them or not.

"It always tastes a little bit better when you got a chance to make it," Miller said.

Students at Columbus Middle School are enthusiastic about learning new ways to eat healthy. 7th grader Colin Damm thought Chef Miller's presentation was cool and interesting.

For these kids, this is a chance to learn that healthy food choices can be fun, tasty, and beneficial for their health and well-being.
