Storm spotting class being held in Eau Claire

Eau Claire (Press Release) - On April 16, 2013 at 7:00 p.m., the National Weather Service, in conjunction with the Eau Claire chapter of the Amateur Radio Emergency Services/Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Services (A.R.E.S./R.A.C.E.S) and Eau Claire County Emergency Management will offer a SkyWarn course for citizens to become trained weather spotters.  This course will be offered at Grace Lutheran Church located at 202 West Grand Avenue in the City of Eau Claire, please enter via the Second Street entrance.  This course is free and open to the public.

All citizens of the Chippewa Valley are invited to attend this informative presentation on weather and how severe weather can affect our community.  Attendees will take away a better understanding of dangers weather events that may occur in our community; in addition they will learn what creates the dynamic for severe weather in our community. 

Eau Claire County Emergency Management would like to thank the members of A.R.E.S/R.A.C.E.S for their hard work in making this presentation possible, and the National Weather Service for their continued support of preparedness in our community.
