Heroes honored for stopping deadly shooter

Madison (WQOW)- Two heroes were honored in the state capitol Tuesday. A pair of police officers who responded to a deadly shooting at a temple in Milwaukee last year were recognized.

The Wisconsin State Assembly recognized Lieutenant Brian Murphy and Officer Sam Lenda as hometown heroes.  Murphy is still recovering after being shot multiples times by the gunman, who killed six that day in the temple.  The shooter took his own life after being shot by Lenda.
