Parisi sworn in as Dane County Executive

MADISON (WKOW) -- Joe Parisi is starting on his first full term as Dane County Executive.

Parisi was sworn into office Tuesday.

He was first elected in April of 2011 to serve the rest of Kathleen Falk's term.

Parisi said one of his goals is to improve the unemployment rate in communities of color in Dane County.

"It is my goal that my newly created Office of Economic and Workforce Development, working closely with the community, will help to ensure that a rising tide does indeed raise all boats."

Parisi also said he'll continue to build partnerships between units of government, citing the progress made by the county's Clear Lakes Task Force to clean up our waterways and the Leopold Early Childhood Zone to address the educational achievement gap.
