MADISON (WKOW) – Low-income families in Wisconsin can get help paying their heating and energy costs for their home through May 15.
Residents could be eligible for help if their household income is no more than 60 percent of the state median income for a household of their size. The median income for a single person is about $24,000 and the median income for a family of four is about $46,000.
Households that qualify for help can receive an average of $338 to help pay for heating and $174 for other electricity costs. The assistance is based on households' size and income, as well as actual energy bills.
