Child car seat recycling sites open Saturday

MADISON (WKOW) – The Safe Kids Wisconsin Coalition is organizing a recycling event for Wisconsin residents to get rid of old child car seats for free on Saturday.

The event is led by Children's Hospital of Wisconsin.

Car seats older than six years, that are no longer needed or broken, will be collected, taken apart and recycled.

Businesses in Madison, Eau Claire, Wausau, Oconto, Plover and Marshfield are participating in the event.  Sites in La Crosse and Onalaska will be accepting the car seats on April 27.
