Eau Claire (from the City of Eau Claire administrator) - On Friday morning, the Chippewa River Gauge at Grand Avenue read 767 feet, approximately 6 feet below flood stage of 773.

The National Weather Service is projecting the Chippewa River to crest on Sunday, April 21, at approximately 768.2 feet, which is 4.8 feet below flood stage. This last storm event dropped a significant amount of precipitation in the upper watershed, so the projected crest could go higher, but we do not expect any major flooding incident in Eau Claire.

Currently, we have the bike paths closed behind the UWEC Fine Arts and Hobbs Ice Center. Please use caution near flood waters. Currents are stronger and faster, eddies are more dangerous and murky water can hide scour holes and drop offs.
