Free clinic draws hundreds for health and wellness services

Eau Claire (WQOW) - A once-a-year a free clinic draws hundreds of people seeking health and wellness services to an Eau Claire church.

Bethesda Lutheran Brethren Church in Eau Claire says more than 600 people showed up Saturday for the Touched Twice Free Clinic, making it the largest turnout yet. Anyone who attended was guaranteed at least one service, whether it was a haircut or an eye exam. Area optometrists, chiropractors, and others donated their time free of charge.

"Every year we get the building filled with people that come and have a need. It may just be for a hot meal, it may just be for a haircut. Or it may be for several different things. And until they stop coming, we're going to keep going," said Touched Twice Clinic Coordinator Karen Biel.

Clinic visitors were also served a meal and were able to take clothes home with them.
