UW's Andersen happy with team's development

Madison (WQOW) -- Wisconsin's annual spring game marks the end of spring ball for the Badgers.

It was a game the defense ended up winning 61-47, under coach Gary Andersen's unique scoring system. Around 11 regular starters were held out of Saturday's game, but that allowed some of the younger players to get an opportunity on the field. Andersen says overall, with as much as these players have had to learn with the new coaching staff, the spring was a success.

"We're in a good spot," says Anderson. "You're never going to get everything you want, it's never going to be perfect but we wanted consistency I think we got that. We wanted effort I think we got that. It was a good spring, excited to move forward. I wish we would have had more numbers in some spots where the young men were injured and hopefully get them all back so it was productive."
The Badgers next organized event is the start of fall camp in August.
