DA promises "thorough" investigation in Menasha shooting

TOWN OF MENASHA (WKOW) -- Winnebago County's District Attorney is promising a "very thorough" investigation after an officer involved shooting in Menasha Friday.

Police say they were called to an apartment complex after getting reports that a man threatened to hurt himself. They say 66-year-old Wilson Lutz refused orders to drop his gun and pointed it at police. That's when an officer shot Lutz twice and killed him.

Police have not released the name of the officer, but say he has 17 years of experience.
