DNR issues warning over baby animals

Posted:

Black River Falls (WQOW)- There's may be nothing cuter than a baby animal.  But the DNR is warning people to stay away from them for their safety and your own.

The DNR says it's been receiving phone calls lately from people who have seen fawns and cubs that appear to be all by themselves.  But experts say looks can be deceiving.

"The mother is close by and so we ask people and remind people to not disturb those baby animals when they see them; just leave them alone and the mother will be back at some time to take care of them," explains DNR Area Wildlife Manager Tim Babros.

You can contact the DNR if you do see a baby animal that needs help.  But you are warned to leave them alone.
