Grant Co. man sentenced on drug & weapons charges

GRANT COUNTY (WKOW) -- Authorities in Grant County say a Bagley man facing drug and weapons charges has reached a plea deal.

The Grant County Sheriff's Department says 29-year-old Dustin Caya pleaded guilty to possession of THC with intent to deliver, possession of methamphetamine and carrying a concealed weapon. Two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia were dismissed as part of the agreement.

Caya was sentenced to three years probation and 15 days in jail.

The charges stemmed from a crash in December. Investigators say Caya lost control of his truck and hit a power pole along County Highway A in Ellenboro. Officers say they found about eight grams of crystal meth, nearly one pound of marijuana and seven loaded guns on Caya and in his vehicle after the crash.
