School district may take up wage study to keep talent in Eau Claire

Eau Claire (WQOW)- A local school district wants to make sure it's employees are being paid competitively with others around the state so they don't bolt town for a better job offer.

The Eau Claire School Board President says that the district should spend time and resources to take a look at wage differences. Dr. Carol Craig wants to make sure talented teachers in the district aren't tempted to take a better job offer.

"A wage study looking at private and public institutions in the area as well as statewide would be a good way of making sure that we can recruit quality people and retain quality people," says Eau Claire School Board President Dr. Carol Craig.

Dr. Craig says the wage study idea will be brought in front of the school board and will need its approval to move forward.  No word yet on what the study would cost.
