Eau Claire (WQOW) -- The Chippewa Valley Predators kick off their 2013 Northern Elite Football season Saturday at home against the Menomonie Thunderhawks.
The Predators made it all the way to the NEFL's Elite Bowl last year, before suffering a disappointing loss to the St. Paul Pioneers. Predators players and coaches say they have turned the page and are ready to make another run.
"Traditionally we've been a pretty good football team, but we're just looking to take it one game at a time," says Predators head coach Martin T. Adams, "we can't really look too much in our past, because that doesn't necessarily predict in the future with football. So we've got to be careful with that but I'm looking forward to it."
"The last few years we've been missing a couple of pieces on our championship quest," says Predators strong safety Montae Bailey, "we made it there every year and we fall short. So we've added a lot of new talent and I think we have the parts that we need for the championship this year."
It's a 6:00 P.M. kickoff Saturday at Carson Park for the Predators and Thunderhawks.
