MPD asks for man to be banned from State Street

MADISON (WKOW) -- As a condition of his bail, the MPD will be asking that 22-year-old Paris Reese be banned from the State Street area.

For the second time in recent months, Reese arrested for battering people in the downtown area.  The most recent incident happened early Thursday morning, both inside and outside Whiskey Jacks Saloon.

Reese began breaking the tavern's darts after being asked several times to adjust his clothing to stay in compliance with the dress code.

When he was asked to leave the establishment, a disturbance ensued involving several staff members and a patron.  Reese punched the patron three times in the face; spit in one employee's face; bit the shoulder of another employee; and, as he was pushed outside, he delivered a blow to the neck of a man smoking a cigarette.

30-year-old Shqualia Atkins, who was with Reese, also became involved in the incident.  She pounded on the chest of a bouncer and struck another in the head with her purse.  She was cited and released.

Reese was taken to jail on charges of battery, disorderly conduct - 3 counts, and carrying a concealed weapon.  He had a knife in his hand when officers caught up with him.
