UPDATE: Kindergartner's wheelchair found


MADISON (WKOW) -- The Madison family who reported a wheelchair stolen from their garage says the chair has been found on Westover Ct. in Madison

Police tell 27 News they don't know who took the chair, which the family was using the transport a five-year-old who is in a full leg cast and could not be taken to school without the chair.

Police say the chair was taken from the garage of a home on Mt. Vernon Ct. on the city's west side.

We'll have the family's reaction to the chair being returned tonight in 27 News at 5 and 6.


MADISON (WKOW) -- A west side Madison family is asking that a wheelchair stolen from a Mt. Vernon Ct. garage Wednesday be returned.

According to the incident report from the Madison Police Department, the wheelchair is used by a Madison kindergarten student who is currently in a full body cast and cannot go to school without the chair. 

Police say it's believed other young people in the Park Edge Dr. area may have been playing with the wheelchair and may know where it is currently located.

Anyone who knows where the chair might be can reach officers at the Madison Police Department's West District by calling 243-0500.
