GREEN COUNTY (WKOW) -- Waukesha police have confirmed the man missing in Green County over the weekend is the person of interest in the Lafayette County triple homicide.
Jaren Kuester's car was found abandoned in a field just a few miles from the home where three people were found murdered Sunday morning.
Green County officials had tracked the path he traveled to the area of Ridge Road and Smock valley Road, near Browntown, in Green County. By road, that's about 6 miles from the home on Phillipine Road in the town of Wiota.
Earlier, officials were concerned Kuester may have had an altered mental state, and had found some of his clothing near railroad tracks in the area.
On Monday morning, Waukesha police Lt. Tom Wagner confirmed their department arrested the 31-year-old Waukesha man at an apartment building in Waukesha. Police had discovered the truck authorities were looking for in Lafayette County in the parking lot.
Kuester was taken into custody around 3 p.m. and then turned over to Lafayette County.

On Saturday, the sheriff's office got a call about an abandoned vehicle in a field. Deputies learned Jaren Kuester, 31, had apparently walked away from it and the path he traveled was tracked up to about 1.5 miles away-- to the area of Ridge Road and Smock Valley Road near Browntown.
Green County officials say on Sunday, Kuester had been located by the Waukesha Police Department. Kuester is from Waukesha County.
Earlier, officials were concerned Kuester may have had an altered mental state.
CADIZ (WKOW) -- At 2:39 a.m. Green County Sheriff's Department received a call about a vehicle located in a field in Cadiz. An investigation concluded that 31-year-old Jaren M. Kuester had walked away from the vehicle. Kuester was last seen Friday afternoon.
Kuester is a white male, 5'10", 165 pounds. He has brown eyes and brown hair.
Officials tracked Kuester's path to Ridge Road and Smock Valley Road, about a mile and a half away from where his vehicle was found. Items of clothing were found along the path, but he has not been located. Kuester could be partially naked and have an altered mental state and may be disoriented.
