UPDATE: News conference Tuesday in Peshtigo homicide

PESHTIGO (WKOW) -- The Department of Justice - Division of Criminal Investigation was called to assist Peshtigo police with a death investigation.

Officers were called to a home on Thompson Street Sunday evening where a deceased female was found.

The victim has been identified as 45-year-old Patricia Waschbisch, of Peshtigo.  Investigators consider her death a homicide.  An autopsy is expected Monday to determine an official cause of death.
 
48-year-old Brent Kaempf was identified as a person of interest and taken into custody for questioning Sunday night.  Based upon evidence collected thus far, investigators believe there is no public safety threat.  Kaempf and Waschbisch were in a relationship at the time of her death.
 
No other information about the investigation is available at this time.  A news conference is scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday.

PESHTIGO (WKOW) -- Police say the man sought in connection with a death investigation in Peshtigo has been located.

Authorities were looking for the 48-year-old Peshtigo man as a "person of interest" in the investigation.  Police warned the man could be armed.

The death happened Sunday evening, but no further information is being released by officials at this time.
