Homicide victim worked to protect abuse victims

PESHTIGO (WKOW) – Authorities say a Peshtigo woman who worked to protect victims of domestic violence was found dead in her home and police are questioning her boyfriend.

Authorities have not said how the woman died, but the body of 45-year-old Patricia Waschbisch was found Sunday evening.

According to WLUK-TV, Waschbisch was the interim director of the Rainbow House, a domestic violence shelter and advocacy group in Marinette.  Those who worked with her say she was a dedicated advocate.

The director of the Wisconsin Coalition Against Domestic Violence, Patti Seger, says Waschbisch had a great knowledge of the legal system and the laws designed to protect victims of domestic abuse.
