WI mother to be sentenced in baby's 1957 death

SHEBOYGAN (WKOW) – A Sheboygan woman is scheduled to be sentenced Wednesday afternoon after being convicted of killing her baby more than 50 years ago.

Seventy-six-year-old Ruby C. Klokow was convicted in February for her daughter's death in 1957.  Due to Klokow's age and medical issues, prosecutors are expected to recommend a sentence of 45 days in jail and 10 years of probation.

Originally, the death was ruled accidental, but the case was reopened in 2008 after her adult son came forward with stories of horrific child abuse.

Klokow pleaded no contest and told the judge she'd felt a lifetime of remorse over her daughter's death.
