MADISON (WKOW) – A western Wisconsin historical site plans to re-enact an early 19th-century battle this summer.
A re-enactment of the War of 1812's Battle of Prairie du Chien will take place at Villa Louis, a historical mansion in Prairie du Chien. The battle took place on July 17, 1814, when U.S. and British-Canadian soldiers clashed on what is now the mansion's west lawn.
The event will feature two narrated re-enactments, one on the evening of July 13 and the other on the afternoon of July 14.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children between the ages of five and 17 and $8.50 for students and senior citizens.
