Event discusses impact Affordable Care Act will have on business

Posted:

MADISON (WKOW)-- Congressman Mark Pocan met with area business owners Wednesday afternoon to discuss the impact the Affordable Care Act will have on small businesses.

Several provisions of the Affordable Care Act will go into affect at the end of the year. Many of them will have a drastic impact on business owners and their employees.

More than 100 area business owners and leaders attended the event held at Grainger Business Hall at the University of Wisconsin. Congressman Pocan says his goal was to de-bunk myths and answer questions owners might have.

"We want to make sure they understand what is required of the small businesses, but also how it can provide the benefits to make sure they're providing their employees with health insurance. It's also about keeping those employees for a good long time so they can have a profitable business," Pocan explains.
