Circus World Museum prospects discussed on Capitol City Sunday

Posted:

MADISON (WKOW) -- Steve Freese, Executive Director of Circus World Museum in Baraboo, is one of the guests on Capitol City Sunday this weekend.

Circus World needs to work out a new arrangement with the Wisconsin Historical Society in order to take out a line of credit and keep the themselves financially solvent.  Freese says their success is critical to the local economy.

"If you look at the Department of Tourism figures, for day trippers its a $52 per person expenditure in the county.  For people who stay overnight its $112.  So you end up somewhere between $3.7 and $12 million that's spent in Sauk County, central Wisconsin, because Circus World is there," said Freese.

Wisconsin Department of Transportation Secretary Mark Gottleib also joins host Greg Neumann to discuss his agency's projected shortfall of $63.5 million dollars by 2015.

Capitol City Sunday airs at 9:00 a.m. on WKOW 27.
