UW Carbone Cancer Center's Pedaling for Pancreas bike ride


MADISON (WKOW) -- Pancreatic cancer is the fourth most deadly cancer nationally and its incidence is rising according to the American Cancer Association.

The first annual Carbone's Pedaling for Pancreas Cancer is a 10-mile bike ride. It's on Saturday, May 11 at Hometown USA Community Park in Verona. The bike course follows Military Ridge Trail and circles around Verona.

Registration opens at 8:00 a.m. and the ride starts at 9:00 a.m.

Cost is $35 dollars for adults and $30 dollars for youth under 17 years old.

100 percent of the proceeds will go directly to pancreatic cancer at UW-Madison. The goal is to fund 2-3 pancreatic cancer research projects annually at UW Carbone Cancer Center.
