IL burglary suspects held in WI after long chase

ELGIN, IL (WKOW) -- Two burglary suspects led police on a 115-mile chase from northern Illinois to Wisconsin.

Police responded to a reported burglary at a Sam's Club in Elgin, a suburb of Chicago.  The two suspects fled.  According to Elgin Police Commander Glen Theriault, the suspects' truck hit two police officers.  The officers were treated for leg injuries.

The Chicago Sun-Times reported that the chase ended early Saturday in Wisconsin.  Highway patrol officers caught the suspects after stretching tire spikes across the road.

Theriault says the chase ended near the border of Racine and Kenosha counties.

Both suspects are being held in Wisconsin until charges are filed.
