Bo Ryan Honored at Coaches vs. Cancer Gala at Kohl Center

MADISON, WI (WKOW) -- The 2013 American Cancer Society Coaches vs. Cancer Wisconsin Gala is sold out with more than 700 guests attending on Saturday, May 4 at the Kohl Center.
This year's event, the largest of its kind in the U.S., will be hosted by five Wisconsin college basketball coaches and their wives including: Bo and Kelly Ryan UW-Madison; Rob and Deanna Jeter (UW-Milwaukee); Luke and Meredith Reigel (UW-Parkside); Jeff and Amy Gard (UW-Platteville) and Justin Meyer (Edgewood College). The keynote speaker is CBS Sports analyst Tim Brando.
The event is a unique opportunity to team up with local college basketball coaches and support the lifesaving mission of the American Cancer Society.
Wisconsin Men's Basketball head coach Bo Ryan will be recognized at the event as the recipient of the 2013 American Cancer Society Coaches vs. Cancer Champion Award, presented annually to a college coach who has been significantly engaged in the program's fundraising, education and promotional initiatives and who has demonstrated leadership in supporting the American Cancer Society's fight to save lives from cancer.
Coaches vs. Cancer is a joint effort by the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches that empowers basketball coaches, their teams, and communities to help win the fight against cancer. For more information visit
