Burgers & Brew: supporting local farms in WI

MADISON (WKOW) -- Tickets are on sale now for the 6th Annual Burgers and Brew event in early June.

Burgers & Brew is a celebration of three of Wisconsin's favorite traditions: grilling out, enjoying craft beers and supporting local farms. The event is at Capital Brewery in Middleton.

The event will be on Saturday, June 1st from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tickets cost $30 and guests will get mini-burgers paired with a 5 ounce beer. Unique burgers, grilled onsite, will feature dynamite flavor combinations of locally-raised meats, vegetables and cheese found only in Southern Wisconsin.

"This event is a blast! It's an amazing opportunity for the community to see award-winning chefs, standing side-by-side with the farmers that raised the meat and vegetables being served to them. They're getting a first-hand look at the relationships we work to facilitate year-round," says Buy Fresh Buy Local program manager, Theresa Feiner.

All participating restaurants are partners of REAP Food Group's Buy Fresh Buy Local program, a partnership of local farmers, chefs, and other food service providers working together to increase opportunities for diners to eat fresh, locally- grown food.
