Father runs marathon blindfolded to support daughter
PITTSBURGH, PA (WKOW) -- A father from Pittsburgh wanted to support his daughter who is blind by walking a mile in her shoes. Actually, he'll be running 26.2 miles blindfolded.
Mark Bruno got the idea when he attempted to close his eyes while walking a trail near his home. His daughter Cassie was born blind, and Bruno wanted to see what she goes through on a daily basis.
Now with a friend serving as his guide, Bruno runs with a blindfold to prepare for the marathon.
He says it's hard work, and was scary at first, but he knows how satisfying it will be accomplish this goal. His friend compares them to Batman and Robin -- only Batman is blind so Robin gets to drive the Bat Mobile.
