Madison's Mad Rollin' Dolls prep for derby league championship


MADISON (WKOW) -- Wisconsin's flat track roller derby league, The Mad Rollin' Dolls, hosts a championship game this weekend.

It's the 9th season for the Mad Rollin' Dolls. Proceeds from the event go to Heartland Farm Animal Rescue.

This sport combines adrenaline, estrogen and strength all in one derby track. It's a full contact sports on a flat, oval track. There is no staged hits or made-up drama.

The Mad Rollin' Derby Dolls 2013 championship games will be on Saturday, May 11 at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum at the Alliant Energy Center. Doors open at 5:00 p.m. and the action starts at 6:00 p.m. The event will raise money for Heartland Farm Animal Rescue.

Here's the championship game schedule:

Bout 1 - Grudge Match: Vaudeville Vixens vs. Quad Squad
Bout 2 - League Championship: Reservoir Dolls vs. Unholy Rollers

The after-party will be at High Noon Saloon at 701 East Washington Avenue.

Tickets are $12 at the door or $10 in advance. Kids ages four to 10 are half price and kids under four get in free. Click here to buy tickets.
