Janesville man arrested for 4th OWI

JANESVILLE (WKOW) – A Janesville man has been arrested for his 4th OWI offense early Thursday morning.

A Janesville police officer witnessed a black Cadillac heading north on N. Pontiac Drive had a broken headlight, what appeared to be fresh front end damage and expired registration.  Around 2:09 a.m., the officer followed the vehicle and noticed that it crossed the center line several times and stopped the vehicle.

Authorities identified the driver as Richard L. Lambert.  Police say Lambert had slurred speech, failed a field sobriety test and consented to an evidentiary test of his blood.

The officer arrested Lambert for his 4th offense OWI and took him to the Rock County Jail.

The results of Lambert's blood test are unknown at this time.  Officers were unable to determine if Lambert had been involved in a crash because no accidents were reported.
