Sentencing for man who took part in flooding of jail cell block

Posted:

Dunn County (WQOW) - One of three men accused of flooding a Dunn County jail cell block is going to prison for 1.5 years.

Trevor Thibado and two other inmates allegedly flushed a jail bed sheet down a toilet. The cell block was flooded with raw sewage and the sheets got wrapped up in mechanisms in the city's sewage pumps. The damage totaled several thousand dollars.

Investigators say one of the inmates said they did it because they were bored.

The charges against Thibado were dismissed as part of a plea bargain, but the judge took them into consideration when he sentenced him to prison on a drug charge.
