ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- Court documents say the body of a missing St. Paul woman was battered and naked when it was recovered from the Mississippi River.

The body of 30-year-old Kira Steger Trevino was recovered from the river in downtown St. Paul Wednesday. Her husband, Jeffery Trevino, is charged in her death and is scheduled to stand trial May 28. He remains jailed in Ramsey County on $1 million bond.

Prosecutors filed a motion Friday seeking more time for experts to analyze the woman's body and other evidence in her disappearance. Defense attorneys wanted test results by May 15.

KSTP-TV reports the court documents say injuries to the body include a head wound, a broken finger, bruising inside her lip and lacerations to her liver. She also had duct tape in her hair.

St. Paul (WQOW) - The body of a missing Minnesota woman has been found. The woman has local ties, at one time, she was a student at UW-Eau Claire.

Kira Trevino's body was found in the Mississippi River. She was last seen alive in February in St. Paul. Police say Trevino's body was recovered from the river yesterday. Her husband, Jeffery Trevino, has been charged with her murder, based on the amount of blood found in the couple's home in Minnesota, and in Kira's car.

Minnesota (KSTP) - Police confirmed that a body found this week in the Mississippi River is the remains of Kira Trevino, a missing St. Paul woman.

Trevino, 30, of central Wisconsin, was last seen alive Feb. 21. For months, Trevino has been presumed dead, according to police.

Jay Steger, Trevino's dad, told KSTP that he and her mother are devastated, but happy that their daughter has been found.

Trevino's husband, Jeffery Trevino, 39, has been charged with second-degree murder in her disappearance.

Authorities held a news conference Thursday regarding the body that was found at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Mississippi River under a barge, south of the Robert Street Bridge, said Randy Gustafson, spokesman for the Ramsey County Sheriff's Office.

Police said that the investigation into Trevino's death remains ongoing.

Since her disappearance, volunteers have been searching metro parks for evidence in the case. A search turned up some evidence near Keller Lake in Maplewood, which included a plastic bag with a bloody pillow inside that matched Kira Trevino's DNA.

A person who works near the Mississippi River found the body and reported it to police, according to police.

The Ramsey County Water Patrol and St. Paul firefighters arrived at the scene. Firefighters retrieved the body, which was transported to the
